    The mandate of the Victim/Witness Assistance Program (VWAP) is to provide information, assistance and support to victims and witnesses of crime throughout the criminal justice process in order to increase their understanding of, and participation in, the criminal justice process. Offered by the Ontario Victim Services Secretariat, VWAP services include crisis intervention, needs assessment, referrals to community agencies, emotional support, case specific information (court dates, bail conditions) and court preparation and orientation.

  • Federal Ombudsman for Victims of Crime
    The mandate of the Federal Ombudsman for Victims of Crime relates exclusively to matters of federal responsibility and includes:
    • facilitating access of victims to existing federal programs and services by providing them with information and referrals;
    • addressing complaints of victims about compliance with the provisions of the Corrections and Conditional Release Act that apply to victims of offenders under federal supervision and providing an independent resource for those victims;

  • Partner Assualt Response Program

  • Bereaved Families of Ontario
    At Bereaved Families, we dedicate our work to bereavement support through self-help and mutual aid.
    Our strong community spirit mirrors the commitment made by our volunteers and staff. Our programs are facilitated by trained volunteers who are themselves bereaved. Volunteer health professionals support our facilitators and advise our programs. Each year, on behalf of Bereaved Families over 1,000 volunteers contribute to helping the healing begin.
